Vrbo | Use It Before You Lose It

A video campaign for Vrbo, a vacation rental service, aimed at overworked office workers

Team: Damoni Chou, Emma Hill, & Olivia Hur

Insight: Almost 46% of American workers do not use all of their paid time off, and that PTO often does not roll over. Their main use of it is to complete boring tasks, like going to the DMV or the dentist. Why not use Vrbo for your PTO and book a life-changing adventure or quick weekend holiday?

Execution: Series of picturesque vacations people booked on Vrbo with their PTO as a result of needing a break from work, with a witty and humorous tone to differentiate from typical category work.

Evergreen Trees | :30

Sam walks on a trail in the forest, taking in scenic views and the sound of birds chirping.

VO: Instead of wasting their PTO at the end of the quarter, Sam called in sick. A sickness that, allegedly, can only be cured by evergreen trees on the other side of the country. Luckily, Sam was smart enough to book with Vrbo.

Sam in office looking at Vrbo website on her desktop.

VO: There, she found a quaint cabin all to herself. Three straight days of no roommates or late nights at the office. Pure bliss if you ask me.

Sam on trail, holding her phone up looking for a signal

VO: Now if only Sam remembered to grab a map from that ranger earlier. Who knew there’s no signal in the woods?

SUPER: Vrbo: Use it before you lose it.

On The Riviera | :30

Amy stands at the bow of a boat, taking in the view of the French Riviera.

VO: Sitting in an office all day had Amy going crazy. She wanted to see the world beyond just postcards, so she used Vrbo and booked a stay on the French Riviera.

Amy uses her phone and pulls up the Vrbo App

VO: With one swipe, Amy found herself a dreamy, waterfront villa. And with Vrbo’s private rentals, Amy doesn’t have to worry about overbearing hosts or room shares! She’s so excited, she can’t wait to show all her friends.

Amy takes a selfie over the edge of the boat, and accidentally drops it in the water. Amy moves offscreen.

VO: Oh, thats not great. Hopefully, Amy got that insured.

SUPER: Vrbo: Use it before you lose it.

Hawaiian Getaway | :30

Sasha lounges on a beach chair, sipping a frozen drink and reading a book.

VO: Overtime during the summer was really killing Sasha’s vibe. She's suppose to be sunbathing, not shuffling papers. So,Sasha cashed out her PTO and booked a beachfront villa with Vrbo.

Scene cuts to Sasha and friends on a beach surfing.

VO: With Vrbo’s easy and honest booking, Amy spent less time looking out for hidden fees, and more time with her toes in the sand. Her glowing skin gave Sasha the confidence to grab a surfboard and hang ten with the locals.

Sarah wipes out on the sand comically.

VO: Ouch, thats gotta hurt. At least, her tan still looks nice.

SUPER: Vrbo: Use it before you lose it.

21 Grams | Perspective

A video campaign for 21 Grams, inspiring tablet and smartphone users to break the habit that is causing Myopia

Team: Damoni Chou, Emma Hill, & Caroline Amato

Screens and devices are necessary parts of our everyday life that people tend to overlook and not notice the impact it has on their eyes.

Through the perspective of the screen user, we can show how the symptoms of Myopia may go unnoticed - until you step back and change your perspective.

What We Do | :30

POV of the main character using screens and up-close objects throughout their routine. Cuts focus on the object, as background becomes blurry and near-sighted. Shots cycle from classrooms, late night studying, skateboarding, texting while walking, etc.

VO: Screens are apart of our everyday life. Sunrise to sunset, back to sunrise.

Whether its work, school, hobbies, or just a needed break, we’re so busy we tend to not notice the big things until it’s too late.

Sound swells and main character removes screen, shifting focus to background that is now blurry.

VO: Focusing too much on screens and close objects is a leading cause of Myopia, which can cause your vision to become blurred.

For the sake of your eyes, change your perspective.

Look Up. See More.

Where We Go | :30

POV of the main character using screens and up-close objects throughout their routine. Cuts focus on the object, as background becomes blurry and near-sighted. Shots cycle from restaurants, shopping, texting, taking photos, etc.

VO: We can’t escape our screens. They are always with us, wherever we go, and we like it that way. We love every like. We obsess over every follow. We let our cameras eat before we do.

We race through our routines, over and over, ignoring the real world until digital is all we can see.

Sound swells and main character removes screen, shifting focus to background that is now blurry.

When We Relax | :30

POV of the main character using screens and up-close objects throughout their routine. Cuts focus on the object, as background becomes blurry and near-sighted. Shots cycle from home office, dog park, bedroom, coffee shop, etc.

VO: Screen after screen, our eyes are constantly at work, straining to keep up with the digital world that never sleeps. sometimes all you want to do is delve into the little things that bring you joy. A glimpse of rest that only digital stimulation provides. A break is something everyone needs, but what happens when your eyes never get one?

Mcdonalds | The Scent Of Betrayal

The Goal: Sell the smell. Use the invisible power of scent to tell a story about our love of Mcdonalds fries

Team: Damoni Chou, Emma Hill, & Caroline Amato

We all know that feeling of betrayal when we find out a friend or family member went to McDonald's and didn't invite us. Through light-hearted and relatable moments, this campaign highlights the love we all share for McDonald's fries and turns those small moments of jealousy into laughter and bonding.

Betrayal On The Way Home | :30

A mom has just made a quick stop at McDonald's before picking up her son from school. She tries to hide all the evidence of her snack, crumpling up a bag and shoving it under her seat, right before her son gets into the car.

MOM:  Hey sweetie, how was school today? Did you have fun?

SON:  Yeah Mom, we learned about-

Distracted, the Son looks around, sniffing the air. Mom gets nervous. Music builds.

SON:  Mom, Did you go to McDonald's without me?

MOM:  No, Sweetie! Of course not, why would I do that?

Mom catches her son’s suspicious glance in the rearview mirror. Dramatic, action music swells between cuts of their zoomed in expressions .

SON: ...oh okay! Can we go to McDonald’s then?

Cut to scene of the car pulling up to a McDonalds drive through as the Mom sighs in relief as she picks up her fries. The son looks down at the floor of the backseat and reveals the crumpled up bag Mom slid under her seat, Son chuckles to himself. The mother and son enjoy their fries together, smiling and laughing.

END TAG: I’m lovin it

Two Friends are going on a diet together. Matt walks into the kitchen with bags of healthy, unappetizing foods, while Jamie sits at the kitchen counter unamused.

MATT:  Time to kick this diet off right! I got all the things we need for dinner!

Matt holds up a sad looking bag of greens and kale

JAMIE:  Yum... I’m so excited....

Matt gets distracted as he sniffs the air

MATT:  Hey, what’s that smell?

Jamie suddenly gets nervous as dramatic music swells. Zoomed in shots of Jamie’s and Matt’s  faces switch off. Matt follows Jamies gaze towards his jacket on the  counter and Jamie tries to stop Matt from moving it in a slow-motion action shot.

Matt reveals McDonalds Fries that Jamie hid under her jacket. Matt gives Jamie a disappointed and judging look, as Jamie is still stuck in her mid-air pose from the earlier slow motion scene

MATT:  Really? What happened to our diet?

JAMIE:  Umm... well... Potatoes are vegetables?

Matt laughs as the next scene shows the groceries pushed aside as Jamie and Matt are eating the fries and bantering.
